For your final project, you will develop a report detailing a global health challenge facing a population and offer recommendations for that population as to how that health challenge could be addressed. Multiple dimensions of health (cultural, social, political, economic, etc.) must be considered when analyzing a population health issue and designing a solution. This is an important skill for anyone working in the field of health—from administrators to clinical health workers to public health professionals.

The project is divided into three milestones, which will be submitted prior to the final project submission to scaffold learning and ensure quality final submissions. These milestone will be submitted in Modules Three, Five, and Seven. The final project will be submitted in Module Nine.

In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:

• Analyze the core determinants of health in global populations for determining the root causes of global health challenges
• Determine the extent to which global populations are vulnerable to global health challenges through analyses of the resources available to global populations
• Explain the influence of global health policies and organizations in addressing global health challenges
• Determine potential underlying causes of health equity and social justice issues through analyses of global health challenges
• Recommend culturally sound interventions for global health challenges that are supported by fundamental global health theories

   4. Analyze the given situation for the core determinants of health in the population being affected by the global health challenge. For example, what social factors are important to note in the population, as related to the health challenge?
   5. Determine, based on your prior analysis, potential root causes of the global health challenge. Be sure to support your response with appropriate research.
   6. Analyze the fiscal resources available to the affected population for how they might affect the health challenge. For example, are the affected individuals typically poor? Does this impact their ability to address the health challenge?
   7. Analyze social support networks available to the affected population for how they might affect the health challenge. For example, would there be support at their workplace, either from peers or management, in addressing the health challenge?
   8. Determine the extent to which the population is vulnerable to the health challenge it is facing based on your prior analysis of their resources.
2. Health Equity and Social Justice: In this section of your final project, consider how the global health challenge relates to both health equity and social justice.
3. 1. Determine the extent to which leaders in the population have acted upon guidance provided by global health policies and organizations, if at all. Be sure to support your response with evidence.
   2. Explain how the health challenge is also an issue of health equity.

   4. Determine potential underlying causes of health equity and social justice in the current health challenge. Be sure to base these causes on your prior analysis of determinants of health.
3. Intervention Recommendations: In this final section of your final project, you will provide recommendations for the population based on your prior analysis that will help to address the global health challenge.

   2. Recommend interventions that could be implemented in the population to help mitigate or address the health challenge. Be sure to explain how your recommendations are culturally sound.
   3. Defend your recommended interventions with support from applicable fundamental global health theories.

Milestone One: Gathering Resources
In Module Three, you will submit an annotated bibliography that identifies resources for your final project global health report. This milestone will be graded with the Milestone One Rubric.

Milestone Two: Analyzing the Issue
In Module Five, you will submit a draft of the Determinants of Health Analysis section of your final project global health report. This milestone will be graded with the Milestone Two Rubric.

Milestone Three: Health Equity and Social Justice
In Module Seven, you will submit a draft of the Health Equity and Social Justice section of your final project global health report. This milestone will be graded with the Milestone Three Rubric.

Final Submission: Global Health Challenge Analysis
In Module Nine, you will submit your final project. It should be a complete, polished artifact containing all of the critical elements of the final project. It should reflect the incorporation of feedback gained throughout the course. This submission will be graded with the Final Project Rubric.

What to Submit

Your global health report must be 5 to 7 typed pages in length. Use double spacing and 12-point Times New Roman font. Your paper must align with appropriate APA style, including but not limited to citations, formatting, and language.
