For this essay, you will need to select something that is happening in the world today and align this claim with at least (4) of the readings from this semester. the readings are
1: The Metamorphosis by franz kafka, 2: Sarah Cole A type of love story, 3: Play THIRTEEN by Catherine Hardwick, 4: Langston Hughes poem “The nigro speaks of River”. (you have to choose a common theme in all the topics for your paper.(Professor). more than 5 % of plagiarism is an automatic failure.
For this assignment, you must incorporate at least eight (8) sources. (4) are from the semester’s readings and (4) from the school’s library databases that must help you articulate your claim. Any sources that you find outside of the Farmingdale Library Databases must be approved by me(professor). The sources are to be peer-reviewed and between 2017-2023. The rhetorical success of your argument will depend largely on your ability to choose strong evidence that your audience finds plausible and persuasive. Use either the MLA or APA style formats to document your sources. Also, include a possible resolution to the research topic you are writing about
Before submitting your essay, ask yourself the following questions:
Is my introduction enticing? Would a reader with only a marginal interest in my topic be motivated to read further after reading my introduction?
Is there any way for me to strengthen and/or clarify my thesis (without using personal pronouns)?
Have I done a good job of explaining my stance?

Are my paragraphs well developed with a controlling idea tying the information in each paragraph together?
Am I transitioning smoothly from one idea to the next, one sentence to the next, and one paragraph to the next?
Have I accurately paraphrased important information from my sources in my own words?
Have I cited my sources correctly in the body of my essay?
Have I sufficiently introduced, contextualized, and explained quoted material i.e. have I “sandwiched” my quotes?
Have I avoided over-using quotations?
Have I offered a possible solution (call to action) to the problem in my essay?
Are there any grammatical errors or typos in my essay that might distract my readers?
Are my sources properly formatted in my essay and in my Annotated Bibliography?
