For this assignment, you will be creating a virtual information guide for expecting parents. You are welcome to use PowerPoint or Word to create this booklet. The information in the booklet (this is not an essay, this is a booklet) will cover information that first-time parents should know from the time of birth up until the time their child completes high school. For this assignment, you will use the textbook as a reference, along with at least 2 other scholarly sources.
Your booklet should include photos, graphs, information, and anything else you deem important. Include a table of contents at the beginning of the booklet for easy reference. Don’t forget to have a sources page at the end and in-text citations throughout the booklet.
Required information to be covered includes (but is not limited to):
stages of pregnancy
natural birth pros and cons
medication during delivery pros and cons
postpartum depression information
breastfeeding information
various stages of the first year of life (when to introduce solid foods, some motor milestones, language milestones, etc)
information on the toddler years (language milestones, styles of temperament, self-awareness, etc)
information on various experiences children have in preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school
social development at a few various ages (this can tie into some of the other bullet points such as school experiences)
puberty expectations (physically and emotionally)
signs to watch out for drugs, alcohol, tobacco,
suicide warnings and ways to help
teen pregnancy rates and trends
end the booklet with a positive note about parenting
