For this assignment pick a research a topic that will help you be more successfu

April 30, 2024

For this assignment pick a research a topic that will help you be more successful as a student (such as time management, self-regulation, critical thinking, procrastination, self-defeating behaviors, multitasking, mindset, etc.) and create an Annotated Bibliography on your topic. To properly complete the assignment choose your topic and write a research question for it at the top of your page as I showed you in class. Then find three different types of sources (one from Gale Virtual Reference Library and two from Academic OneFile) and write the citation/reference for each source in MLA format, and a brief annotation underneath each citation. Your annotation should have three sentences telling how your source is relevant to your research question, how your source author has authority or credibility, and one thing you learned from that source.
1. Using the Richland Campus Library online, research your topic. State your research question, examples include: Why is self-regulation important for a college student? or What are some effective time-management strategies? or How can I stop procrastinating? or What is a good strategy to stop self-defeating behaviors? Be sure to type in your Topic at the top of your page, then skip a line and write your research question. Then skip a line again and begin your references/annotations, the source citations and three sentence paragraph for each one. Remember you have to do three of them, each worth 30 points and the Topic and Question at the beginning are each worth 5 points for your total possible 100 points.
2. You need to find three different types of sources in the Richland Campus Library online. You should use the Databases Academic OneFile to find academic journals and magazines. You should use the Gale Virtual Reference Library to find encyclopedia articles or ebooks.
3. Be sure to cite your sources in MLA format. Be sure that your source is relevant (helps answer your research question), that the author has authority (is credible as shown by experience, job and/or degrees earned), and remember to include one thing you learned from the source you chose.
4. Under each source citation, you must include the annotation that consists of three sentences: (1) This source is relevant because …, The author of this source has authority because …, and One thing I learned from this source is …. Your annotation should be in your own words and should not contain any quotations.
Remember your paper should begin like this (I showed you in class) at the top:
Topic: XXXXXXXXXX
Question: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX?
