For this activity, we will be learning how to use learning activities to better develop students’ social and emotional self-awareness. The activity you will be completing is one that I hope you will integrate into your classroom practices as a teacher concerned about your students’ social and emotional learning.
Instructions:
Using pictures you have saved on your computer, cell phone, photo album, or screenshot some from magazines, create a collage using power points or google slides of things that are important to you (for example, a picture of a family, pet, or favorite place).
Then after you have created your collage, share on your google slides or power points what pictures you chose and
Why did you choose those pictures, and what do they mean to you.
Your presentation may be created using Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slide. Please upload the presentation into the submission section for this assignment. You will have at least six but no more than 10 slides to support the learning activity. Include a title and reference slide. GET CREATIVE (creativity is a trait of gifted/talented learners). Make it interesting, relatable, and fun!
What I hope you take away from this Activity: Having a discussion about our values and why we feel strongly about certain things is an important practice for developing self-awareness. With this activity, your students can visualize the things that mean the most to them and share with others about why those things are important. Students can also learn others’ values to help them increase empathy and understand and appreciate their diversity in perspectives. We can learn more about each others’ social, cultural, and historical backgrounds through this visualization of our values.
