For the Week 3 Survey Results Activity, you will create a 3 question survey to administer to classmates, friends, and/or family. Review the information in surveys presented in Chapter 11 and Chapter 12. Review the process of how findings and analysis are used to construct conclusions, and how conclusions are used as the basis for any recommendations that is presented in Chapter 12.
Then complete the following tasks:
(1) Create a survey of at least 3 questions that relates to your project (this is a chance to collect primary data for your project). Be sure to include an introductory paragraph for your participants that briefly explains the purpose of the survey. Let them know it is for a class assignment. Also, review survey techniques presented in Chapter 11 and 12.
(2) Using a free survey tool like Microsoft Forms, Google Forms or SurveyMonkey.com, administer the survey to your classmates (you can copy and paste the survey link into an email message for your classmates) or email/text it to your friends and family.
(3) Based upon the results of your survey, provide a short written analysis of your findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Refer to the information in Figure 12.1 for converting the raw data from your survey into a finished table. Refer to Figure 12.4, as an example of how to present your findings, conclusions and recommendations. In your report, include a brief statement of the problem you are addressing through the survey, the findings from your survey that includes the finished table of your survey results, the conclusions based upon the survey results, and your recommendations based upon the conclusions. Use lists as shown in the example.
On a separate page:
(4) Briefly discuss what you would do differently – a question you should have added, wording, etc. that might have provided better results for the analysis.
(5) Provide your written survey questions (no website links).
Be as thorough as possible when writing your survey results and remember, this is an academic assignment, so no “text-talk,” no conversational tone, and ABOVE ALL OTHER THINGS… don’t plagiarize!! Lastly, spell-check and proofread your work! Failure to follow these steps will negatively impact your grade.
