For each essay topic, you are expected to address the ways in which your personal experiences or your family members’ personal experiences support or contradict what the textbook says about a particular topic.
Instructions
You must follow all of the instructions to receive full credit for each paper.
1. All papers must be typed and double-spaced and should be no less than 400 words and no more than 600 words in length. Most should be about two pages inlength.
2.You must make at least TWO references to something from the textbook in each of your papers. You must follow the instructions for citing the book below.
Rules for Citation
When you make references to the book, you should use APA format for doing so – with one exception. Typically, APA format only requires you to mention the page number on which the information you are citing is found if you use a direct quote from the text. For the purpose of this exercise, however, I want you to include the page number any time you refer to the text, whether you use a direct quote or paraphrase. I am asking you to include the page number so that I can look up the information you are citing. For example, you would write,
“Because my parents are immigrants, they did not tend to have cross-sex friends while they were growing up, as Bosson et al. (2021, p. 337) mention is typical of immigrants.” If you mention something that’s stated in the textbook, but do not mention the authors of the book by name, then both the author’s name (or names) and the date belong in parentheses: “People smile more when they believe they are being observed (Bosson et al., 2021, p. 51).”
In addition, as long as you only refer to the textbook, you do not have to include a References section. You are not expected to read any additional materials for your papers, but if you choose to do so, you should follow the same guidelines for citation, as mentioned above, AND you will need to have a References section, where you provide a full citation for the source. You should not have any references to Wikipedia or similar sites.
Topic 5
Before you started this class, what stereotypes did you believe about how men and women differ from one another? According to your textbook, which of your stereotypes seem to be accurate and which do not? Do you still hold those same beliefs or stereotypes now? Do other members of your family share the same stereotypes you have or do they have other stereotypes?
please look over uploaded media for pages from the book for citations and check the media for additional information.
