For Assignment Task 1 analyse your development during the placement.  Choose a critical incident or experience that occurred.  By critical incident/experience we mean something which provided learning in relation to one or more of the skills included in the employability skills information which you may have read when preparing for Assessment Task 1, and which is relevant to your placement tasks and role.  It might be something that you planned and undertook over a number of weeks, or something unplanned or unexpected.  Identify the skill you think this situation helped you develop and use this skill and the pertinent experience as the focus for your analysis.
The table below contains a series of questions which takes you through the reflective process.  Reflective analysis helps you:
·        identify a key experience
·        break it down into its significant parts
·        recognise how they relate to or influence each other
·        pinpoint what you have learned from the experience
·        set out plans to build on this learning so you continue your development.
Complete the table below as fully as possible, so that your content (the writing you do yourself rather than the table questions and headings) amounts to 1500 words. The table was developed using knowledge and experience of several models of reflection, including Gibbs’ (1988) Reflective Cycle.  The table should help you reflect effectively, whether you have been taught about reflection in other modules or have no knowledge of it at all.  Please use the table, writing your answers in sentences and paragraphs in the boxes provided, keeping to the table format.
In your writing, refer to your learning from Task 1, other module activities, your Placement Objectives Document (POD) and your reading whenever appropriate.
Support your points with reference to reading.  Reference correctly using your programme of study’s referencing style.  Include all references for component 2 in a reference list at the end of your assignment. Failure to include references will result in a fail mark for this component.
Refer to feedback you have received (in a formal appraisal with your placement provider, and from others with whom you have worked while on placement).
Refer to the assessment criteria for WB5101, as set out in the Marking Rubric (on Moodle).
Use the information and guidance offered by the University’s Academic Skills team on referencing, critical thinking and other academic skills
