Then, visit https://www.dosomething.org/us and browse their array of campaigns addressing meaningful issues. Select one cause that resonates with you and your talents. Familiarize yourself with the campaign’s goal and then participate according to that campaign’s instructions. Take a screenshot or submit other proof (email confirmation, for example) of your participation.
Submit the screenshot or other proof and write a 200-300 word reflection answering the following:
Which campaign did you choose, and what is its focus?
Discuss what particularly motivated or interested you about becoming involved with this issue/effort.
Share 1-2 specific actions you plan to take over the next month to support this campaign in your own way actively.
Reflect on how exploring this campaign illustrates at least one sociological concept or theory learned in class.
While change often happens collectively, individuals enact reforms through a commitment to bettering society in approachable ways. I hope this activity inspires you to continue enacting positive change outside the classroom.
