Find a person to utilize one of the inventions in the 101 Trauma- informed interventions book.
Interview this person about their life, focusing on the issues we have discussed in class. Topics should include, but are NOT limited to:
The person you interview does NOT have to have a specific trauma
to discuss, though they can. This interview can be about how they
handle things (life, trauma) in general. If there is a Specific trauma
they want to discuss, the interview can center around that
1) What is their family history (their age, where they grew up, what
is their relationship like with parents, siblings, ect…)
2) How do they cope with tragedy in general ? If there is a specific
thing they want to talk about they can add what that is and how
they coped with it
3) Was there a moment they couldn’t forget they wanted to
discuss (like 911 for example) OR what was a turning point in
their lives that happened (this can be a simple transition that
had an impact on them like changing schools, getting married,
getting a new job, etc… or something more complicated). How
did they handle this?
4) How do they handle life CHANGES in general
5) After you interview choose an intervention to do with them or
have them complete and then ask them their experience of that
intervention
6) Summarize your experience with the person you interviewed.
Do you feel like they handle things in a healthy manner? Would
you diagnose them with anything? If they were to go for
treatment how would you work with them as a clinician
