Actions
for your final. No hand written work. Word process your final.
Instructions for completing the worksheet
At the top of the sheet identify the movie you chose from the list above.
Complete all six parts of the exercise. The entire exercise must be from the same film, but you should a different scene for each of the first five sections. Be sure to identify the scene at the beginning of each section.
Use complete sentences and thoughts.
No hand-written forms.
In the first column of parts 1-5 identify significant examples of that cinematic technique or artistic choice. If there are not enough examples, choose a different scene. Describe it with complete sentences and thoughts. Use accurate film terminology.
In the second column describe the technique’s effect on the audience. Important: I want to see your analysis of the effect on the audience. Do not give me a literal definition of the technique. For example; maybe the technique you identify is the use of is a rapid tracking shot. A correct description of the effect on the audience might be “This shot give the audience a sense of how frantic and scared the character is.” I do not want to see something like “Tracking shots are used to follow the character.” This is an accurate description of the technique, but I want to know what the filmmakers were trying to communicate to the audience when they used that technique.
Part six is a written section. Follow the prompt.
Use accurate film terminology throughout your final.
