Final Assessment and Presentation
As you have come to know, forensic psychology is about more than psychopaths and serial killers. In addition, much of the field is about solving a problem: clinical, legal/policy, experimental. Your final paper is centered on understanding the field of study within this perspective. You are to select an issue within the area of criminal justice that can be solved from a forensic psychology perspective. It cannot be a topic that we have discussed in class. For example, the interrogation of juveniles would be off limits. Your topic can be clinical, legal/policy oriented, or experimental.

Before you begin, make sure you focus on a particular area of the field. Once you have a topic, you are to construct a letter/statement outlining the following:
Who are you writing this to?
Why are they a stakeholder?
Why should it be important to them?
Explain what the issue is.
Use journal articles, statistics, and/or reputable online sources to detail the issue and the prevalence.
Indicate why this is a problem and who it impacts.
What are the costs to society, the CRJ system, victims, etc.
Discuss possible solutions to the problem. Indicate the best possible solution including the reasoning behind it.
Papers must include citations as footnotes
