Building on the thoughts, images and sources that you have assembled in the two preparatory assignments (n.b.: you likely will continue to add sources at this point), summarize your thesis in your opening paragraph and then use your images and sources to develop the argument before arriving at your conclusion. (Generally, the intro and conclusion are 1/3 to ½ page each.)
We will discuss your range of approaches in tutorial, but some possibilities include:
1) if writing about a key art or design work, explore how that work fits into/diverges from the career of its artist or designer. Alternatively, how does it fit into/diverge from work that is characteristic of its moment?
2) if writing about a key moment, what are 2-4 objects/ideas that exemplify why that moment seems important to you?
3) If writing about an idea, what are some objects that either strike you has having been informed by this idea or (perhaps more interestingly) seem to have informed this idea?
You have considerable scope here. Turn that to your advantage—we’re covering a lot of ground in this course, so start by thinking about things that capture your imagination (and remember that often means something fascinating, but it also can mean something really annoying) and go from there.
I wanted to writing about The Selfportrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird Frida Kahlo (MLA ver plz)
