i. Accommodations, collaboration or preplanning that would be required to ensure inclusion of all children
2. Develop a publicity flyer to share with teachers and parents. The flyer must include but is not limited to the following:
a. Location and contact information
b. Information on how this site would be used to meet the learning standards, goals, or objectives for math or science (identify specific learning standards in the Curriculum Framework or Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences)
c. Explain why such a trip is a developmentally effective approach to instruction in mathematics and/or science for young children and address the nature deficit learning
d. Describe the type of hands-on learning or discoveries children might experience at this site
e. Graphically present the information, using your computer skills
3. Prepare a summary (1-2 pages). Include the following:
a. Explain why you chose the site.
b. Describe what essential aspects you will need to know about community collaboration and relationships with school administrators, families, and the community through this project.
c. Discuss the advantages of taking mini-field trips with young children. Will you visit this location once or multiple times with your class? Why or why not?
d. Discuss your plans to follow through, barriers, or your class’s adventure and exploration of the selected community resources.
e. How does your plan attend to the “nature deficit” perspective.
