After reading through the book of Acts choose one of the evangelistic accounts where the gospel was presented or someone was converted. Explain where this passage fits the Acts 1:8 “great commission.” Depending on which story you choose state either the evangelistic approach or what led to the conversion of the person who does not know Jesus. Rewrite the evangelistic account using modern language and modern life for a contemporary audience.
Example
Acts 16:16-40 is the end of the earth described in Acts 1:8.
The conversion occurs because Paul and Silas behave in a way that is contrary to what the prison guard expects which leads the jailer to want to join them.
Similarly, it reminds me of a story when I used to work at a fast food restaurant in high school. At closing time, everyone would joke around. Many of those I worked with would work slowly so someone else would come and do their work for them. As a Christian, I worked for the Lord and not for men, so I always wanted to do a good job. One night one of my coworkers asked me why I was different than the rest of them. Why did I work so hard when no one else was around? It gave me an opportunity to share Christ with her.
