Christopher R. Teeple

you will complete the Nature of Study section of the Prospectus Form. For the Nature of Study section, you will explain the systematic approach (research design) you will use to address your research question(s) along with identifying any barriers, challenges, or limitations you may encounter with your study.
Consider the research design that would best address your research question(s). Examples of study design include:
Quantitative—for experimental, quasi-experimental, or nonexperimental designs; treatment-control; repeated measures; causal-comparative; single-subject; predictive studies; or other quantitative approaches.
Consider the type of data you will need and the potential secondary data sources that could be used to address your research question(s)
Possible secondary data sources, by program, are available on the Center for Research Quality website.
Consider the specific data points that you will need to answer your research question(s)
Consider the implications of your research on the field
Complete the Nature of the Study and Significance Sections of the Prospectus Form.
As you work through these sections, use the following information to guide you:
Explain the systematic approach (research design) you will use to address your research question(s) and identify barriers, challenges, or limitations that you might encounter within your plan.
For your planned research design, present the type of data you will need as well as a list of possible secondary data sources that could be used to address the proposed research question (s). At this point, you should have an idea of the type of data needed to address your research question(s). Identify the data source and how the data will be accessed.
Provide the specific data points that you will need to answer your research question(s). Data points are the specific variables or type of information that you will use in your analysis. For example, items on a survey or types of interview questions (not the actual survey or interview questions). When using secondary data, you must ensure the data include the dependent and independent variables or data points that you need to address your research question. You will also complete the limitations/challenges/barriers component of this section.
The significance section of the Prospectus Form will also need to be completed. Students should make sure to highlight how healthcare administrators can use the research to make changes in their organizations with the goal of creating positive social change.
Update the Supporting Literature section with sources that support the selected methodology, design, and secondary dataset.

The framework used is Phenomenology and the following are several research questions identified. Please use this information to complete the Nature of the Study and significance sections.
The relationship between dealing with Covid-19 patients and healthcare worker burnouts resulting in leaving their jobs
Research questions:
1. Have you ever experienced burnout in your career before and after the Covid-19? What caused the burnout in each case, and which burnout experience had the most significant impact on you?
2. Do you enjoy dealing with Covid-19 patients? If not, why?
3. Is dealing with Covid-19 patients increasing your burnout rate? If yes, how does this transpire?
4. Does job dropout of some nurses during the pandemic increase your burnout rate? If yes, briefly explain.
5. Can nurse burnout be addressed? What care policies would you recommend to help nurses mitigate the impact of burnout, particularly during the novel coronavirus?
Secondary datasets:
The source of my secondary datasets for the study would be Denning, Max, et al. (2021). The study assesses the relationship between the psychological outcomes and safety attitudes that resonate with my research topic. The assessment of different predictors of burnouts such as depression and anxiety makes the study appropriate in answering health workers’ experience with burnout and consequences of the same. Rather than limiting its finding to a given region, the study involves participants from the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Poland, giving the best conclusion on the relation between dealing with Covid-19 patients and burnouts by health workers. The countries selected for the study had a range of Covid-19 mortality rates, economic development, and health system design, making it easy to adapt to the global research.
The study using Safety Attitude Questionnaire (SAQ), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and Oldenburg Burnout Inventory (OLBI) give accurate answers to my research question. Assessing whether dealing with Covid-19 patients increase burnout and whether health workers enjoy dealing with Covid-19 patients can best be derived using these methods. On the policy, the study suggests recommendations, including improving organizational communication and streamlining workflow in healthcare.
The multivariate logistic regression used in the study gives the best result on predictors of burnout. The data analysis was done using Strata v14 with the reliability of tools such as HADS, OLBI, and SAQ validated before using Cronbach’s alpha. This ensures that the result obtained is accurate. The sampling method deployed, which is convenience sampling involving targeted email communication and social media recruiting many respondents, means collecting information from a diverse range of health workers. The result of this is the increased internal validity and reliability between covariates.
