Assignment Four: Folk Rock, Counterculture and Psychedelia
After finishing your reading in your text, watch the clips. Answer the following questions in 2-4 pages.
1. Explain the formation and popularity of folk rock. How and why do you think it resonated with America? Why was it important?
2. Define Counter Culture and Psychedelia. Explain the shift from folk rockers to counterculture/psychedelia. How did the new Counterculture embrace the foundations of folk?
3. Explain the power of the 1960’s festivals ( Monterey, Woodstock and Altamont).
4. Lastly, how did this period of time represent a changing generation in America?
