Draft Intro
I have been working as a Preschool Teacher for twenty- five years now and hopefully one day opening my own daycare center. The reason I chose to become a part of the childcare profession is, because most of my life I have been surrounded by children especially my brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews. Some of my most influential learning experiences came from caring for my younger relatives and helping my childhood friend mother at her daycare center. I simply wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. I think teaching is one of single greatest profession there are out there, we are helping them grow as an individual as we teach them knowledge that they did not know before. Seeing a student learns and excel at something is genuinely a rewarding experience.
There are six staff credential levels and four administrator levels offering various recognition of achievement based on a child care provider’s professional development/education, years of experience, and professional activities. Maryland Child Care Credential Program recognizes teachers who increase their qualifications beyond the requirements of state licensing and registration regulations. This helps develop a professional workforce qualified to provide care for young learner. In addition, the programs offer incentives such as pursue professional development and furthering your education.
