Determine whether the underlined portion of the sentence is an adjectival, adverbial, or nominal. Then decide which sub-type of modifier it is (ex: participial phrase, prepositional phrase, single-word adverb, gerund, relative clause, determiner, infinitive, etc.)

Decide if each sentence is a complex, compound, or compound-complex sentence.

Choose 2 questions and write at least 250 words for each.
What is a common grammar “mistake” made in the real-world? Why is the mistake made? How “should” the grammar be? Do you think that we should enforce this “correct” way of speaking/writing? Why or why not?
Have you ever been told that the way you speak/write is incorrect? How did this make you feel? What did this make you believe about yourself? Knowing what you know now about grammar, what would you say back?
Take a grammar concept that you have learned in this course. Explain it as if to a friend.
Think back to when you were learning grammar in either grade school or high school. How was grammar taught? Now evaluate it. Was grammar taught in isolation or along with writing or literature? Do you think that the methods used were effective? Why or why not?
