examine online materials from a STEM program and evaluate the program from a lea

April 30, 2024

examine online materials from a STEM program and evaluate the program from a learning science perspective. The focus of this evaluation will be to apply the learning sciences to understand the potential effectiveness of a STEM program. Students will write a program evaluation that described the elements of the program, plans for a program evaluation, and results of the program evaluation.
You will write a 5–8-page (APA format) evaluation of a STEM program that you locate online. If you have a program from your current professional context in STEM, you are also welcome to evaluate this program. You should begin contacting administrators or other stakeholders as soon as possible to identify the program that you will evaluate. Your evaluation of this program should be explicitly based on and draw from course readings to support your thinking about the program. You should cite readings from the course in support of your statements within the evaluation.
You should adhere to basic APA formatting.
Direction:
1.Introduction – provide an overview of the STEM program you have evaluated. This should include a description of the components of the program.
2.Criteria for evaluation. Using the course readings, provide a description of the criteria you are using as you evaluate the program. From the readings, what are the aspects of a STEM program that make it effective? From your perspective and based on your learning this semester, what are the principles of learning sciences that developers of STEM program should incorporate? Your evaluation criteria should include the affordances of the program for supporting cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes for students.
3.Describe the stakeholders for whom you are writing this evaluation? Are you focused on principals of k-12 schools or CEOs of education companies? You may simply be writing this evaluation for the developers of the STEM program, or you might be writing this evaluation to help a school system understand whether they should adopt this program for their context.
4.Based on the course readings, especially those related to the learning sciences, write your evaluation of the program. You should specifically cite the readings as support for your evaluation.
5.Provide a conclusion with recommendations relative to the STEM program that you evaluated.
6.References (APA format – Purdue Owl APA Formatting websiteLinks to an external site.)
