This lit review focuses on research in the counseling profession using a minimum of of 8 peer reviewed journal articles to explaion how a specific topic/issue is defined in the literature and summarize previous reseaarch findings. Specifically my topic is on how depression may be overlooked in black women becaus of social and cultuaral influences ie the strong black women phenom.

IV. Evidence-Based Topic Literature Review: 80 pts due May 8 by 11:59pm. Students will select an
original topic of interest in the field of counseling and plan, design, and write an introduction AND
literature review. This literature review will focus on evidence-based practice in the field. A minimum of
eight (8) current (2010 to present), peer-reviewed journal article references are necessary for an
appropriate literature review. Remember the purpose of a literature review is to explain how the
topic/issue is defined in the literature and summarize previous research findings on the topic as to provide
a rationale for a study. The studies you cite should be closely related to the various aspects of the
topic/issue (for example, if you are proposing the implementation of a bullying prevention program, then
you should cite studies that have examined the effectiveness of such programs and identified what
components appear to reduce bullying). APA style must be strictly followed. 8 pages min – I do not
