EVIDENCE-BASED CLINICAL PRACTICE GUIDELINES
Evidence-based clinical practice guidelines are specific recommendations grouped that have been created from a methodologically rigorous review of the best evidence of a particular topic. Guidelines typically do not answer a specific clinical question but rather a group of questions about care. As a result, they have tremendous potential as tools for clinicians to improve the quality of care, the process of care, and patient outcomes and reduce variation in care and unnecessary healthcare expenditures.
