Essay Assignment
The essay for this course will be over the movie Love Actually. In this movie, you will see multiple examples of romantic relationships. Your assignment is to look at one of the relationships presented and analyze it using what we discuss in class. Your grade for this assignment is based on your ability to demonstrate your understanding of the topics you choose.
There are two questions you will be answering for this assignment:
1) What strengths and weaknesses exist in their relationship?
2) Will their relationship succeed in the long term?
You must have cited research to back up your assertions for each question above; your knowledge of the movie is not enough it’s not a ‘book report’ on the movie. This is about showing you can use what you’ve learned in the book to understand relationships on heightened level.
Basic Requirements:
This must be written in APA format. For simplicity, each assignment must be written in times new roman, 12-point font. You must have three cited primary references answering above
questions on your reference page. You may use whatever you would like to back up your answers as long as it is cited, primary research. The remaining references can be secondary, but the citation must still cite the primary research.
As you can see from the rubric.pdf , you will have 3 components or relationship research for each question you must bring up from the research. Using one component and trying to phrase it as two would be one. Also, as you can see from the rubric, you would need 6 total citations to meet the minimum required for this assignment. Though it is possible to use a citation to answer the first question and reuse it again for the second question, you are probably making more work for yourself by doing this (as the thing you are citing is probably a stretch to be used for both questions). I would advise finding stronger citations/references to avoid receiving partial or no credit.
I advise you answer to the rubric. Use two headings (one for each question) and answer them in order.
