Essay 4
Note: This essay cannot be submitted late. It is due on Canvas by 11:59pm on Sunday, June 30. If you fail to submit Essay 4 on time, I cannot accept it late under any circumstances.
Length: 5-8 pages
Sources: 6-more (at least three of which must be peer-reviewed, although more is preferable in most cases)
Note: If you use AI or a LLM, all your sources should be real, the information accurate and relevant, and consistently and correctly cited in MLA or APA style; also three sources must be peer-reviewed from CCP’s Academic Databases.
Instructions
For Essay 4, you will combine Essays 1-3 into a complete Final Research Paper. Rather than simply combining the previous three essays into a single document and turning it in without changes, Essay 4 will require some adjustments and, in most cases, revision. The introduction will be structured as follows: hook, background information, two quotes by experts, Research Question (RQ), and thesis. The rest of Section I (Essay 1) will have the same requirements (background and context), but you may want to revise based on my suggestions in Essay 1 in order to improve your grade for Essay 4. Sections II and III will also have the same requirements as Essays 2 & 3, but you will also want to revise based on my suggestions in order to improve your grade for Essay 4.
Here are a few important notes. First, your essay should have a clear and consistent line of research and argument through each section of Essay 4 (Coherence). It should focused on one focused topic. As a result, the research should develop in a logical manner to the argument you make in Section III (Essay 3). Essays 1-3 emphasize background/context (information), literature review, and argument (evidence), in that order. Second, you should cite all references to outside sources in your essay and include them in your Works Cited page…in correct, MLA Style. In other words, include all sources from Essay 1-3 in your Works Cited in addition to anything you added for Essay 4. Importantly, make sure to put quotation marks around all borrowed language, and cite your source by name even when you are summarizing or paraphrasing their ideas. Finally, review the instructions for Essays 1-3 for further information on each essay/section.
