Each student is required to attend the meetings of 3 different types of treatment/task/support groups. These may include
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Al-A-Teen, Alzheimer groups, Community forums, work task groups, Board of Directors meetings,
etc. A list of support groups for AA can be found on http://savannahaa.com/meetings with locations throughout Savannah. Please
telephone the group leader to obtain permission to attend. Make sure that the leader knows that you are a Social Work student at
Savannah State University. Each student is required to develop a typed permission slip that he/she will need to be signed by the
group leader and student indicating that you attended a meeting. A statement concerning confidentiality must be included. Students
should write a summary of their assessment of the group observation. This assignment must be posted in D2L by the last day of each
month (Feb-April)
