In the introductory chapter (p.5), Wim Klooster said that “historian R. R. Palmer presented the age of revolutions as the triumphal march of democracy. But democracy is no appropriate prism through which to see these uprisings. It was hardly more than a temporary by-product of some insurrections.” Now that you have gone through three main revolutionary periods, do you agree or disagree with that claim? Why? Why not?
