Fundraising challenges are ever-present, with the acquisition of funding being the fundamental priority and activity. It is common practice for most nonprofits to limit their fundraising efforts to only a few reliable mechanisms. Write a two to three paragraph initial post based on your readings, the provided scenario, and the questions below.
It has been six months since you began your own not for-profit agency, which needs more funding. Using the “Funding Mechanisms” section of Chapter 17 to guide you, identify those funding mechanisms currently in use and exploring the potential of other funding mechanisms.
Be sure to address these questions.
Which current funding mechanisms are used for core agency support?
Which ones provide supplementary support?
Taking them one at a time, examine whether their use could be improved.
