Discussion One
Answer the following statement and provide proof from the assigned reading. See the list of assigned works below.
Which assigned work of literature from the first half of the semester compelled you to think about something new, gave you new insight into something, or taught you something new? I’m leaving this question open and nondescript on purpose so that you can have liberty to answer it in most any way you choose.
State the author’s name and title of the work or works of literature; include a detailed explanation about what the literature make you think about or how it gave new insight or taught you something.   Be sure to include one but no more than two direct quotations from the assigned works of literature by this author.  Use no outside research in your response.     Answers that contain AI/ChatGPT use will receive a zero.  Answers that don’t come from the assigned reading or follow the directions will receive a zero.
After posting your response, comment on four different students’ posts. Each comment needs to be two to three detailed sentences and include more than general ideas such as “great answer, good choice, I agree,” and so on.
Respond by selecting “reply.”
The initial post is worth 40 points. It needs to be at least 150 words, not including the direct quotations.
Each comment counts as 5 points each (20 points total).
Students are graded on supporting details, use of at least one quotation, and substantial comments.
Students are not graded based on their choice of author.
