Discussion Board 9
Description:
The study of anatomy and physiology provides a basis for clinical implementation.  This knowledge has many applications in the clinical setting and supports patient examination, diagnostic testing, formation of a diagnosis, and patient communication.  The discussion boards for this course will explore the clinical application of anatomy and physiology as it relates to the understanding of acute injuries and diseases that impact each body system.
Instructions:
Step 1: Respond to both of the following:
Part A:  Choose a disease or condition that impacts the Special Senses.  Using an outside source, write a four to six sentence summary of the condition you chose.  Include any signs, symptoms, predisposing factors, and treatments that are relevant to this condition.  Include a citation in current APA format for your outside source.  The use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology IS permitted when responding to Part A.  When choosing to use AI technology to respond to Part A, please review for grammar, spelling, and punctuation before posting.
Part B:  Write a four to six sentence evaluation of the condition you chose and how it relates to your review of the assigned Visible Body activities.  The assigned Visible Body activities can be found by selecting the “Visible Body Courseware” tab on the left side of the course homepage.  What did you find interesting about the condition you chose?  Which specific assigned Visible Body activities for this module were most relevant to the condition you chose, and how did they help you better understand it?  The use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology is NOT permitted when responding to Part B.  Please respond to Part B using your own words.
Step 2: Read other students’ posts and respond to at least two other students. Incorporate personal experience, if appropriate, to help discuss, support or debate other students’ posts. If differences of opinion occur, debate the issues and provide examples to support opinions.
Be sure to cite any outside sources in current APA format.
Due Date:
Initial posts must be submitted by due date. Subsequent replies are due by the end of the week (see Course Policies and Procedures or your Instructor for details).
Grading:
Be certain to review the rubric to ensure that you are fulfilling the requirements.
