Question: discuss your goals with respect to obtaining the Master of Engineering degree. Please limit your response to 750 words or less. What made you decide upon that option? What motivated you to take that action? Why is it important to you? what or who inspired you to become an engineer. At what age did you first believe that this was the right career path for you, and why?
Instructions:
• An introductory paragraph that grabs the reader’s attention and sets the stage for the following paragraphs
• A few highlights of your abilities, education, and work accomplishments (but don’t repeat your resume) (I’ve added my resume to help with this)
• Reasons for gaps in your chronological work history.
• A descriiption of your short- and long-term goals

Personal thoughts (To be honest I never was the one that had everything figured out. for me, it is uncomfortable to talk about that “gray” area and my personal life. Talk about how the military mold me and how my current surveyor job gave me technical skills that got my engine running. Short tears goals: After getting my maters in Engineering I would like to get a corporate job as a project manager, product manager or a engineering manager with a tech company or construction company for five years to learn the ropes. long term goal: get my own general construction/Remediation company off the ground )
Small fillers to tie the paper together:
Modern life is almost wholly dependent on engineering. It is everywhere and it is always changing, and it is this in particular which attracts me to civil engineering.
Engineering offers us the chance to make the world a better, safer and more exciting place; this is what attracts me to the subject.
While physics and maths give one the background skills needed to assure the validity of innovation and technology, engineering seeks to apply this simultaneously with a desire for products to satisfy consumer needs such as efficiency, safety and cost.
At 28 I spent several weeks at a local engineering company as part of my work experience. This gave me an insight into CAD, mechanical engineering and computer systems, which has led to me wanting to study these at university.
Increasingly over the last few years, I have become drawn to engineering and the wide range of possibilities that studying in this field can offer.
To me, engineering is fascinating. From what I learnt, the word “engineer” literally means “to make things happen”, the simple things in our daily lives to the complicated systems in factories.
