A) A historical diary (400- 700-word ) (100%): The diary has to be written from the perspective of a person who lived in a period full of innovations and inventions ( as if you were living on that period). Your corresponding period is listed in the table below. When writing your diary you should include the following:
1) Part I: Provide details of the period and country that you are living in, who are you and your age as events happen1. (5% )
2) Part II: Identify a major social issue that happened during the time-period (you could include something that have previously happened from the assigned period, but it is still affecting society). Describe the people, the political and economic situation (especially of the lower class)1. (20%)
3) Part III: You have been assigned a scientist, identify him/her by name, give a brief description about him/her, and explain what scientific development he/she is responsible for1. (20 %)
4) Part IV: Give the historical development of a scientific theory or scientific law that was discovered during your period ( or could have been discovered decades or century before, but it was proved during your period), make implicit connection to the scientific method. Remember that it takes time to do science. 1 SLO # 1 (20 %)
5) Part V: Give the historical development of the invention that you have been assigned and how it contributed to social changes during your time-period. Identify the inventors/scientists responsible for that invention. Describe society before and after the invention1,2. SLO # 2 (20 %)
6) Part VI: Explain whether your own ideas about science and technology, and their interaction with society have changed. (5%)
7) Part VII: Write a well-organized conclusion. (10%)
8) Cite a minimum of 3 sources. ( 6 % )
