Godfrey Camille (from the George Vaillant Study video) and Riley Everett’s (from Case
Studies in Lifespan Development handout) life events followed very different paths yet
both individuals arrived at parallel places by the end of their lives. Using specific
examples from each of their life’s journeys, discuss how their respective events
contributed to each of them arriving at Erik Erikson’s stages of
Generativity/Stagnation and Integrity/Despair. Make sure to explain these stages and
show how the life events you choose fit the definitions for generativity and integrity
respectively. What conclusions about lifespan development can be drawn from the fact
that their very different life experiences led them both to a state of integrity by the end of
their lives
