As such, your readings have shown how countering or rivaling the American Intelligence Community is a major priority with many other countries around the world. Select two (2) other countries (it does not matter if they are technically allies or adversaries of the United States) that have shown the need to react to and/or counter American intelligence priorities/initiatives and analyze how that ‘counterintelligence’ has been expressed.

This is fairly unique in terms of how intelligence communities are structurally organized and constructed. Please select ONE country that you suspect is quite divergent from the American Intelligence Community in terms of its organizational structure and its political ethos vis-à-vis its government. Analyzing this divergence, discuss how it might result in real intelligence community differences when it comes to how it formulates its organizational priorities, how it conducts its business, even what operational possibilities exist for it. The point of this analysis is to go deep into a single case and make conclusions about how there isn’t just one way to ‘do intelligence.’
Remember that this does not mean you are searching for countries openly hostile or aggressive to the United States. Intelligence activity is often very subtle and not rising to the state of formal war. The point of this question is to get you researching and analyzing how other countries feel compelled to ‘check’ or ‘keep in view’ the activities and priorities of the American Intelligence Community and how diverse or divergent those initiatives are across two different countries.
