Hall, H., & Roussell, L.A. (2017). Evidence-based practice: An integrative approach to research, administration, and practice. 2nd Ed. Burlington, MA: Jones & Bartlett Learning.
Hall and Roussel discuss various models of EBP, including The Three Circle Model of EBP Clinical Decisions, The ACE Start Model of Knowledge Transformation, The Iowa Model of EBP Practice to Promote Quality Care and the Transdisciplinary Model of EBP.

Go to the IRIS Center website (Links to an external site.) https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/module/ebp_01/challenge/#content
and complete Part 1 of the Evidence-Based Practices online tutorial.
please note that you do not need to complete the activities or final assessment contained within the online tutorial. Just focus on understanding the content, and previewing the video and audio media clips within the tutorial, and then respond to the following prompts:
• What is the difference between an evidence-based practice and a promising practice?
• Since there isn’t always a guarantee that a particular EBP will be effective, why should they be considered over a non-researched approach?
• How would you go about identifying a suitable approach when there is no clear practice guideline or EBP that directly aligns with your problem, population or setting, or when the evidence-level for a particular approach is unclear or insufficient?
