I need an introduction and objective paragraph for this project I’m working on which is the following:Procuro Empowered Health Solutions Incorporated (“ProCuro”) is a non-profit organization with the mission of empowering individuals and students to create solutions for inequities in healthcare and public health. One of our current projects involves combating disinformation circulating around COVID-19 vaccination in Florida, aptly named “Project Vax.” Mohammad’s” information technology background will significantly help this effort and we would be delighted to work with him on a directed project.Project Vax:Ending the pandemic and returning life to normal requires enough individuals vaccinated against COVID-19. Unfortunately, misinformation regarding vaccination threatens this goal.
ProCuro is working to fight vaccine disinformation in South Florida and by doing so, boost vaccination rates. Our strategy involves two steps:1. Characterize the disinformation landscape
● Determine attitudes, barriers to access and misconceptions regarding COVID-19 vaccines, especially in underserved communities.
● Target individuals who do not want to get vaccinated, with the main goal of raising vaccination rates.
● Create a functional map and interactive dashboard of vaccine disinformation and barriers to access across South Florida, both along lines of geography and demography.
● Distribute this map to key local, state, and national agencies
.2. Distribute focused pro-vaccine content
● Develop and adapt pro-vaccine content for the various anti-vaccination sentiments and popular threads of vaccination disinformation.
● Using ProCuro’s research, focus this content to communities where the sentiments and disinformation are most prevalent.
● Assist other local agencies in their pro-vaccination campaigns.Mohammad’s Role:As part of step 1, we need to transform data from a survey format to an interactive dashboard which we will feature on our website (procurohealth.com). Mohammad will engineer this transformation and develop the dashboard using his coding skills and information technology expertise.
In the process, he will learn how to use applications and systems such as Tableau. He will bring his skills to an interdisciplinary team of public health experts, medical students, researchers, and volunteers.In addition, ProCuro is a rapidly growing non-profit with a minimal information technology footprint.
He will help us strategize and develop our information technology footprint, including websites and other infrastructure. In the process, Mohammad will learn how information technology works in the public health non-profit space.Mohammad work for this directed project can be summarized in the following deliverables:1.
