You have been assigned PM responsibility for a product development project using untested cutting-edge technology that has the potential to disrupt the industry. The project owner will be the Mobile Devices Group. This project is part of the product R&D Department within a large, publicly traded company that is projectized and experienced in running projects.
1. Determine the project methodology you will use for this project.
2. Identify the EEFs and OPAs that you may be subject to on such a project.
3. While filling out the Risk section of the Project Charter, determine some risks that could affect this project.
4. Speculate as to this project’s gating process and identify who might be on the gating committee to move this project from the Initiating Phase to the Planning Phase.
