Design a Creative Action – FINAL ASSIGNMENT
FINAL ASSIGNMENT 25 pts.
Recently, you have practiced applied creative and critical thinking when we consider issues that matter to you by directing your exploration of topics via a framework of critical thinking and action found on the Beautiful Trouble website. Yet, throughout the semester, you have learned, discussed, and researched work from artists, designers, and organizers alike that address the urgent issues of the Fast Fashion and Textile Industry. Now it is time to put those two practices together.
Please follow the next steps in order to explore related theories, principles and tactics that connect to the issues and topics that are important to you.
1. Think of a FASHION FIBE & MATERIALS issue that is important to you and describe the urgency in 2-4 sentences. (5pts)
2. Go to Beautiful Trouble and browse the THEORIES https://beautifultrouble.org/toolbox/theory section and choose at least TWO THEORIES that connect to the issue that is important to you. If you do not see any theory that connects to the issues, please simply use this as a guide to help you think of a theory or topic it does connect to. Name the theories and state why these connect to the issue that you are focusing on. (5pts)
3. Continue browsing Beautiful Trouble and search in the PRINCIPLES https://beautifultrouble.org/toolbox/principle Links to an external site. section to select TWO principles that connects to the issue that is important to you. Name and describe in your own words these TWO principles and state why it supports or relates to the issue you are focusing on. Think of how they can support an effort to change a situation. (5pts)
4. Now think of and write a message like a slogan, or short phrase that represents what matters to you about the issue by using the theories and principles you have connected to on Beautiful Trouble as a guide and inspiration. Consider this phrase to be a call to action or support, a promotion for a cause, an inspiration to take initiative, or an educational/awareness campaign. (5pts)
5. Finally, browse the TACTICS https://beautifultrouble.org/toolbox/tactic section on Beautiful Trouble and select TWO TACTICS that could be most relevant or interesting to you in addressing the issue that matters to you and state why. If you do not see any tactic listed that is interesting or relevant to your issue, you can come up with your own! Please use the TACTICS section as a guide to developing your own DIRECT ACTION/strategy on how to address the issue you are focusing on. (5pts)
It is important to remember that this assignment is a REVIEW on the issues learned about this semester and an EXCERCISE only and does not require you to actually follow up with the action you describe in step 5.
YOU got this!!! Looking forward to learning about your approaches to the issue that matter to us!!!
