Your paper will be about a single new technology that is still in the pipeline. This could be a new technology that is being implemented as part of a product but that product is not yet fully conceptualized or it could be an integral part of a more developed product that is still working to gain market acceptance like the autonomous vehicle.
Your paper should describe the invention or innovation that caused the technological advance, detail why this is a potentially valuable development, how it has progressed to date, chronicle the challenges facing it as well as what is being done to over come those challenges as well as what challenge remain. Finally you will discuss if the product will become fully realized and when. I will be looking for you to use the key concepts taught in this course throughout your paper.
