1. Tools to assess recovery focus of an agency Elements of a Recovery Facilitating System(ERFS) It is a 20 item self-administered questionnaire. It helps to distinguish recovery oriented services from traditional models. The items encompass 4 domains of recovery oriented services: person-centered, consumer-driven, community-focused and
accessible/integrated. It has separate questionnaires for adults and children/youth.
2. The Camberwell Assessment of Needs (CAN) Needs assessment was first introduced in the United Kingdom in the 1980s. CAN is the second revision of the original needs assessment tool developed by the Social Psychiatry Unit of the Medical Research Council, UK. This is a licensed tool, which has further been adapted for use in different populations and also translated for use in various Indian languages. It is a 22 item interviewer rated scale and comes in 2 versions: the CAN-C and the CAN-R for clinical and research uses respectively. With regards to its psychometric properties, it has good face/ content and criterion validity; low test-retest reliability. Many Indian studies too have used adaptations of this scale. It has however been noted to have limited utility for the Indian population.
