Discussion Forum 3: “La Conquista”
Be detailed not vauge 3-5 sentences each.
(MLO 3.1, 3.2; CLO II, III, IV)
So far, we have learned from reading the first chapters of A Concise History of Spain that what was once known as Hispania (today Spain), is a territory which has been invaded and conquered by various groups and empires that controlled parts of Spain until 1492. Briefly answer the following prompt:
Describe how the conquest of the Americas by Spain began. Also, explain how the conquest of this New World differs from Spain’s own history of being invaded.
Submit your initial post by Thursday, June 2 at 11:59 p.m. If you do not submit your post by this due date, you will receive a 0 on this assignment.
Your main post must contain your answer to the prompt listed above. You must write a minimum of 120 words (More is fine.)
Write and publish (2) subsequent responses to posts by other students in the fol lowing days. Both responses are due Sunday, June 5 at 11:59 p.m. The goal is to have a dynamic discussion around the topic. If you do not submit responses to two other students, you will be penalized 10 points.
Each response to other students’ posts should be between 60-80 words.
If a post does not meet the minimum word count, it will significantly affect your grade.
