I will attach two things; one is the instructions and the question that you need to answer and slides that should help you answer the question. This essay should be three paragraphs answering the question above. I wanna write my essay on Muslim Americans and their beliefs in the political system. A scenario you can write about is two Muslim Americans who are both very similar and have a strong religious background, but when it comes to the political system, they both have different things they believe in. For example, let’s say one is a strong believer in Donald Trump while the other isn’t. What you can do is find a reason why one is a firm believer in Trump and why the other is against it (an example being maybe one believes Trump is trustworthy while the other doesn’t) (you just need to find a reason on how they have different beliefs, basically an alternative outcome). You’re trying to find a difference between these individuals so like there is the same in this reason but not this (example: they’re the same in having similar beliefs about Muslims in politics, but they are different in that they have a different understanding of trustworthiness in politicians, and that difference is there understanding in trustworthiness in politicians leads to different vote choices). These are, of course, just an example of what you can write about but feel free to write it on whatever makes sense, such as discrimination or hate crimes, whatever you believe would make the most sense. Just keep in mind to tie it back to a link (I will share slides with you so you can choose a link you want this back to). The introduction should be short just specify the links you are looking at (example: many people just assume that individuals who have the same form of group conceissounious always vote the same way but I am gonna use the example of Muslims to show that they might vote in different ways because of the different understandings of trustworthiness in politicians). The most important thing to note is the belief about the trustworthiness of politicians is not part of Muslim group consciousness, so you need to explain what Muslim group conceissounious is and observe that it’s not the same thing as belief in trustworthiness in politicians. In structuring the paper:
1) intro / thesis (specify what links you are looking at, explaining the beliefs of both the Muslim individuals and the one reason why there different, which is the trustworthiness of politicians)
2) an example of two individuals with similar Muslim beliefs
3) examples of experience with politicians (trustworthiness)
4) how having or not having that experience leads either individual to develop different forms of consciousness
