Achievement- Final year project published as a research paper, patented and secured letter of collaboration with Mahindra & Mahindra Automotive ltd. .
Story: After completing my diploma, when I went to college to collect my passing degree, i could not see my final year project in the display section.so I asked about it at the administrative office, and they told me that once a new batch of students (junior) enroll in the senior year, previous year’s final year projects are sent to scrap facilities. After hearing about this, I felt disheartened and discouraged that my whole year’s work did not have a fruitful outcome.
After which, I decided that my engineering project work should be put to good use. After a lot of research and discussion with my senior and teacher, I came upon the idea of patenting my work from the scope of commercialization after identifying the problems related to paver blocks and bricks while doing internships at Samsung and L&T projects site and carefully examining my built environment surroundings. My team started to work upon the materials which could potentially solve the problem created by using conventional paver blocks and bricks.
We went with filling the patent for our product, as a team we had put a large sum of our various internship stipend into the development of the products and for filling patent. But then the pandemic hit our world, causing supply chain disruptions and lockdown restrictions. This had an adverse effect on the development of our product. As the materials were tough to procure and their prices have skyrocketed.
For the next few months, there was no significant progress regarding the development of the product, which started to make my team members anxious and worried about the future of the product. During this period, as the team leader i stayed calm, calculated, tried to motivate my team members and made them believe that we will be able to complete the task in hand even though there is a lot of uncertainty around us. After a few months once we achieved the goal of developing the product, we went on to win various project competition and over there we met representative from Mahindra automotive which were interested in our product but suggested changes which we were able to deliver in a very short span of time.I realized that I have grown as a leadership, improved decision making, time management matured and stayed calm even during obstacles and uncertainty.
