This essay should be about Depression in the UK (case study 2, I can choose my own subject) and how a counsellor would work with depressed people.
What is the demographics etc:? What would the challenges be for a counsellor? cover A-F topic areas. in what way would a counsellor work with clients that present with depression, what other professionals could be included in helping the depressed people?
Please note counsellors are not allowed to prescribe medication, which is only allowed by doctors, GPSin the UK. Counsellors in the Uk tend to use talk therapy such as Person-centred Therapy, Psycho Dynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in an integrated way. c Which organisations are associated with the case study?
What organisations could support you in solving the case study? (group therapy? online support?)
d What skills are required to implement a plan of action in relation to the case study? Think here about your own personal skills covered in the personal development module.
e What possible challenges may you face in implementing a plan of action?
f Summarise the effectiveness of your proposed plan (you could SWOT here – Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats).
