Capstone Paper (100 points): In this paper, discuss the overarching question, “What does
generalist social work practice mean for me?” It is intended to help you reflect on your
education as you graduate into the world as a professional social worker.
The paper should be typed, double-spaced, with a bibliography and all sources properly
credited with citations from appropriate professional materials. Ideally, it is no less than 10
pages and no more than 15. You should be using course materials (textbooks, articles,
websites) and other resources to support your key ideas. Your organization of the paper, use of
APA format, use of grammar, spelling, and punctuation and the quality of your writing will be
considered in the final grade for the paper.
The paper should include four sections as noted below. Use headings for each of the sections.

A. Vision (20 points): What is your view of the social work profession’s
responsibility to contribute to a just society? What strengths do you possess to
contribute to this vision? What knowledge and skills will you need to develop to meet
this responsibility? What mechanisms will you use for self-evaluation as you develop
into a mature professional social worker?
B. Generalist social work practice (20 points): What is your understanding of
generalist social work practice?
C. Your development of generalist social work (20 points): How has the social
work curriculum contributed to your understanding of generalist social work practice?
(20 points) Do not list each of the courses and what you learned. Identify the key
concepts that you learned while in the social work program and which of the
following supported that learning, including but not limited to:
1. Specific courses or course work
