For your application create an initiative to develop ethical leadership in an organization.
As part of your application assignment integrate your well-grounded, personal code of conduct.
The first section of your presentation should describe the context for which you anticipate employing your personal code of conduct.
The second section of your presentation should address your own model of leadership considering tenants from a philosophical approach from this course.
Section three of the presentation should illustrate your initiative including the use of your code of conduct in the context identified in section one. In this section describe policies, processes and practices which bring your personal code of conduct to life and apply knowledge gained in the course readings and “digging deeper” into values and decision-making.
At the foundational level, the program focuses on developing leaders ‘from the inside out’. Thus, your application must demonstrate your conceptualization of a well-grounded personal code of ethical leadership conduct and behavior that will guide your ethical decision making in personal, team and organizational settings and situations. This outcome represents the importance of executives’ modeling ethical leadership and developing others for ethical leadership.
Applications are to be prepared as a slide presentation using the 10-20-30 format (no more than 10 slides, excluding title slide and references slide(s); an oral presentation of no more than 20 minutes; and a minimum 30-point font on all slides. Use the notes pages in PowerPoint to develop your oral presentation. Your notes pages should total 2,000 – 2500 words. Alternatively, you can produce your oral comments in a Word file and upload this file along with your slides. If you take this option, please ensure that a reader can match the text to the slides, and perhaps the best way to do this is to have the slide number at the top of the page of text that deals with that slide.
Each cohort member will present his or her application to his or her team. Teams will provide critical feedback and select one application to present to the cohort. During the cohort presentations, teams will describe the rationale for selecting the presentation. Each cohort member will submit his or her application in eLearn. The final slide should identify how the feedback provided from the team was incorporated into the presentation. Please note: the 10-20-30 is an outside limits guideline. We encourage use of visuals to tell your story and do not require the presentation to use bullet points.
Application Intent. This application assignment requires you to identify and determine how to design and apply processes or practices to achieve outcome #4 in an organization, community, or institution, with a focus on developing ethical leadership. If your application assignment does not address the assignment’s intent, it will not be graded and will be returned to you for further development. As you think about or perhaps begin drafting your application assignment you may want to discuss your approach to the intent of the assignment to ensure that it meets the requirements of the assignment.
