There will be one (1) core written assessment in this course or one (1) audio+visual portfolio option.
Purpose:

Guidelines:
The core assessment must adhere to the APA, 7th edition and must ensure that all information sources are cited within the body of the text, as well as, correctly formatted when referenced. The assessment must be written in 3rd person/past-tense and maintain a scholarly tone. The respective assignment must be uploaded through Canvas assignment link in .doc or .pdf format. Focus:
The Integrative analysis will require students to integrate and synthesize all the assigned readings and additional scholarly research (meaning that the research must originate from scholarly peer-reviewed sources). This research will serve to identify gaps in forensic science that may improve the collection of the facts of a crime to support prosecution of the offense.
Identify and research each instrument(s)/methodology used to identify, collect, or examine evidence.
Examine the benefits (pro) and detriment (con) of using the instrument(s)/methodology.
Develop an argument that reflects technology improvements, purpose for the evolution/replacement, or advantage for remaining static to benefit investigations.
Written Core Assessment Criterion:

Must be within 1500-2000 words (not including cover page)
Must be double-spaced
Must be written in third person
Must have 1” margins
