You will compose an essay, written in APA format and amounting to 3 or more pages (not counting references), that describes interpersonal communication phenomena. Your essay will basically include the following:
1.An explanation of findings about particular IPC phenomena, citing information in research papers you have used for the IPC Presentation assignment.
2.Synthesis of those findings with what you have learned from the text and class discussion, as well as your own experience/perspective. This means you will need to cite the textbook. Additionally, you may relate material from other sources (e.g. news articles).
3. Conclusions you have drawn or questions you think are worth exploring regarding interpersonal communication.
Add information from new sources not in your presentation (though some of your presentations used many sources already, which is great, and I’ll keep this in mind; the bottom line is you need to back up your question/claim well).
Make the final claims/questions very clear, with organized logic about why current findings lead to that claim or question.
Elaborate enough that the reader gets a clear picture of what communication exemplifies the phenomenon under study (e.g. what messages qualify as “relational”?).
Do not waste words or belabor information not relevant to the phenomenon under study.
