Complete section 6 (Communication and Information) from the Checklist of Age-Friendly Features provided below produced by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) (http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/seniors-aines/alt-formats/pdf/publications/public/healthy-sante/age_friendly_rural/AFRRC_en.pdf). You can do this for a city that you live in or are familiar with. Each group member should complete this task and place the evidence in the appendices. Use Littel Rock Arkansas as the city!!!
for the assignment this week you will have the typical two pages. You are tasked in developing some type of intervention or research study that relates to the domain. The majority of your assignment is to mimic the components that one would find in the methods section of a paper or ethics application, etc. You will want to include things such as, but not necessarily limited to: participants, recruitment methods, details on the intervention or study, location, equipment or tools or instruments, etc.
Although I want the focus to be on the methods – please start off by providing 3-4 sentences that would act as a mini-introduction. Meaning, provide some context as to why your study would be considered important. You should also include a purpose, objectives, and/or research questions.
Additionally, I want you to create a social media campaign that would help promote your study. This will be in addition to the 2-pages. It could be a post that you would make on a social media site such as Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter (just choose one). Remember that the target should be to share information with older adults, and that you should be aligned with the rules and requirements/restrictions of the social media site you choose to use (e.g., Twitter character limit). You can add this following the 2-pages or in the appendix, the choice is yours.
See Syllabus for the typical formatting requirements.
