Please compare and contrast Medicare and Medicaid as they pertain to reimbursement along the healthcare continuum of care. When answering this question, please tell us when and why both Medicare and Medicaid were enacted. Who enacted them? Please provide a brief chart explaining how Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement affect the various organizations along the continuum of care, i.e. Acute Care (hospitals), Long-Term Care (Nursing Homes, Assisted Living, etc.), home and community-based services (clinics, labs, other diagnostic testing, homecare, etc.). What percentage of revenue (from each of the industries) comes from Medicare and Medicaid? Do you think these are good programs? Do they work well right now or do they need attention? What are the key differences between national health service (NHS) and national health insurance (NHI) systems?
