as demonstrated in your case. You may want to
discuss these concepts in Part 2 instead or in
addition. Regardless, remember to use
references to support your observations. There should be a
minimum of seven references.
2. At least five must be from peer-reviewed
journals.
3. At least five of the references should
be published within the past 10 years.
4. Readings assigned
in the course syllabus may be cited but are in addition to the minimum
required references.

a. The case may be from your clinical

3. Identify the presenting problem related to
grief and loss.
4. Specify the intervention you will employ to
help the client.
a. State the rationale for choosing this
intervention.
b. State the goals of the intervention for
your case.
5. You are expected to demonstrate critical
thinking through your selection of the specific
intervention modality.
6. If another intervention would be useful in
addition to your selected intervention, name and
describe that intervention and why it would be
useful.
7. Discuss considerations for managing client
system ambivalence or resistance to the intervention.
8. What aspects of countertransference might
you anticipate in working with this client. How might
you manage this?

1. If you are actively working with clients,
you may use one of them for this assignment if the case
material addresses the loss, grief, and
bereavement topic of your paper.
2. If you are not actively working with
clients, you may choose a client from past professional
experience.
a. Do not use the client’s real name. Refer to
the client with a name that you substitute for
the real name; indicate that you have done so.
(For example: “Ron”, not their real
name…”)
3. If you do not have any suitable current or
past cases, you may choose a character in a movie,
play, fiction or non-fiction book, or
professional article.
a. This choice should be clearly stated in the
case summary.
4. Once approved by your instructor, you will
need to create the case summary for this character as
if it is a real case. Do not assume that your
instructor is familiar with the movie.
